People of color
Receiving quality care for mental health challenges is important. A major aspect of quality care is culturally competent care. Healing for many black and brown people can not happen without a full understanding of the impact of dehumanizing systems and unique cultural stressors. The fact is that conversations about health and wellness have to also be conversations about our social identities.
As a woman of color with a solid research background in race, racism, and cultural identity, I know how important it is to have a safe space that addresses the impact of oppressive systems. I am committed to honoring and validating your lived experiences.
